With the busy town of Omagh located 2.5 miles away there are lots of things that you can do in the surrounding area, Omagh is a busy town hosting interests of arts, shopping and fine eateries. Guests are welcome to explore and enjoy a National Trust Garden located on site at Tattykeel house, comprising over 2 acres of landscaped gardens.

Nearby there are lots of things that you can do.  Why not explore some Irish History at the Ulster American Folk Park . If you are into leisurely walks and hikes you can easily explore the natural beauty that the Sperrin mountains offer. An Creagán is nestled in the ancient landscape of the Sperrin foothills and designed to reflect the archaeological sites to be found in the region, they have a craft shop and restaurant.

We are located just over 2 miles from Omagh town centre on main A5 Belfast/Dublin/Omagh/Derry/Donegal road. 

There is local transport and taxis that can accommodate any journeys into the nearest town, Omagh.

Tattykeel House is approx. 2.5 miles from Omagh on the south side of the A5 Omagh to Ballygawley Road.

There is a sign at the entrance gate. A country garden of approx. 2 acres produced over a 25 year period, planted with conifers, shrubs, roses and perennials. There is a sheltered seating area, a Japanese influenced area with an array of interesting features.  . The garden was highlighted on the BBC television series ‘Greenmount Gardens’.  The gardens at Tattykeel House are open each year by appointment from May to the end of July under the national trust Open Garden Scheme.

Genealogy, on site Art studio and their renowned gardens.

Art Studio

There is an Art Studio based on site featuring the work of Kathleen Ward.  Studio display of original art, hand painted silk scarves, silk velvet scarves and handmade handbags.

Kathleen has a large collection of her own fine art paintings at the studio based on scenery throughout Ireland.

A genealogist is a great place to start for anyone who is searching there family routes.

Have you always wondered where your family roots came from? As added service Tattykeel House is the home of Genealogist Hugh Ward.

Hugh holds a Masters Degree in Irish Migration Studies from Queens University, Belfast.  

You would be amazed at how far a genealogist can trace back.

Hugh can also act as a local tour guide of the area.

A wide range of reading material on Local history is available for guests use.
